Every fucking time. These people can’t grasp empathy. They will only feel bad if it happens to them. This is why it’s so important that our kids read when they’re little. It teaches them how to put themselves in other people’s shoes. Since I don’t view my politics like I do my sports teams, I’m going to settle on empathy for these people. Look, they are human. They could have and should have made better choices previously. Also, they are facing an incredibly horrible situation. I think it is counter productive to pile on people after they have suffered a life changing event that are suffering in a way they never have before, especially when it causes them to have realizations that they should have had previously.
